Video Games

2008 / Sep
We got the go-ahead to build a 2nd version of the game, and we built in a tons of new features and improvements. Another huge effort and a quick turnaround for a massively improved game. Great work from all the same F/ players.
2008 / Aug
We burned the midnight oil and created our first iPhone app - a video game for Audi. Gameplay coding by my man Kris (Movax), and slick design by Ross M and Bryan C. I programmed the game's different non-gameplay screens, as well as the in-game visual and control elements. Awesome team effort, and a fun crash course into the Apple development world.
2008 / Mar
We built the site for the Audi / Ironman promotion. I helped with parts of the site, and most notably got to build the game. Graphics and concepting by Ryan P and Mike S. It's a fun one!
2007 / Apr
We built the site for Chuck and Larry (the new Happy Madison film) and I got to make the video game, which consists of 3 different mini-game levels. Try to finish the game and get a high score! Graphics, audio and game concepts by Ryan P and Mike S.
2006 / Jul
We built this game for the SoCal snowboard mountain, Mountain High's web site. It features illustration and gameplay by Ryan P and Mike S, and voiceovers by Tom Hoch of Beatport.
2006 / Feb
This is a fun pitching game, where you play as Jon Heder's character from the movie. He loses his attention very frequently, so try to strike out your opponent when your concentration isn't broken!
2006 / Feb
We built the web site for the Benchwarmers release, and I got to build the site AND both games. This game is a fun homerun derby game, where you can play as 3 different characters from the movie - each with their own ridiculous idiosyncracies. Try to destroy as much as you can while hitting homeruns!
2005 / Dec
I was tasked with building a game reminiscent of the 8-bit classic RC-Pro Am. Ryan P again directed and built the graphics, soundtrack, and gameplay. This was my first legitimate Actionscript2 / Flash 8 project, and it was a really fun build. Watch out for the Bongs! I also worked a bit on the main movie site that housed this game.
2005 / Aug
This was my first big project at Factory. Lucky for me it was a super fun video game! I wrote all the code, and Ryan P directed gameplay, graphics and sounds.
2001 / Jun
This was my very first Flash project, ever. There's certainly no better way to learn a programming language than by writing a video game with it! It was written in Flash 5 / Actionscript 1, and is a fun way to work on your much-needed addition skills :)
2001 / Apr
Reactor is a fun, challenging and unique 100-level puzzle game. At the time, this was certainly my greatest programming accomplishment. It started off as shareware only, but years later was released for free! I also wrote the soundtrack and built a serious level editing interface and interactive tutorial. Amazing graphics by William Follett, and game concept by Gary Rosenzweig.
2000 / Dec
I was allowed to design my own skateboarding game, and after talks with Gary about a positive and fun concept this is what I came up with. You can do a number of fun tricks and grinds (check out the intructions). I also helped write the music for this game, along with expert sound designer Jay Shaffer.
2000 / Dec
I was allowed to design my own snowboarding game, and this is what i came up with. You can do a number of fun tricks (check out the intructions), and there are 4 different modes of gameplay. I also helped write the music for this game, along with expert sound designer Jay Shaffer.
2000 / Oct
Gary (the boss) wanted a game that was reminiscent of Q-Bert, so I built Hip Hop. I created a level editor and built 10 distinct levels - after the 1st ten, you have to jump on each block twice. I also wrote the soundtrack for it!
2000 / Aug
My second video game at Clevermedia, Knight and Squire is a version of a classic Japanese game I believe, where you must navigate a set of points, but once you land and stop on a point, you can't go back to it. You also can't move in reverse, because your squire prevents that. I built 99 levels, a level-editing system, and a recursive level-solving algorythm to rank each level in terms of difficulty, so the levels progressively get harder.
2000 / Jul
This was the first video game I ever programmed, and for that matter, the first commercial project I ever programmed. Chopper Rescue is a mission to pick up stranded soldiers on the bettlefield, while avoiding or shooting down an increasing number of missiles and tanks. Thanks to Clevermedia for getting me on the path to geekdom!
